Arrival early afternoon. Pass through immigration and customs and you will be met by your Trump Tours escort and local tour escort who will remain with you during the entire tour. According to the “World Happiness Report” welcome to the happiest city in the world, Copenhagen, Denmark. Over 1,000 years old, this small fishing village is now a buzzing metropolis with modern architecture, royal history, cobblestoned streets, medieval canals and a focus on sustainable living. Panorama tour of the city including the Royal Palace, the colorful harbor Hyhavn and the world famous mermaid statue. Check into hotel for two nights. Welcome dinner at hotel this evening. Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the Danish countryside. Visit a potato or vegetable farm and learn about production in northern Europe. Continue exploring the island of Zealand (Sjaelland) and enjoy lunch (included) in a smaller village. Return to Copenhagen for rest or additional sightseeing. Perhaps you will visit Tivoli Gardens, a riot for the senses. Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world but innovation blossoms everywhere with its splendid gardens. Dinner on own. Breakfast at the hotel. Depart via the Oresund Bridge, the longest road and rail bridge in Europe. The bridge, built 1995-2000 is 4.84 miles long and almost 10 miles if one includes the Danish tunnel and the Swedish man-made island. Arrival to Southern Sweden known as Scania (Skåne) where one will find the richest arable land of the country. It is known as the “pantry” of Sweden where over half of the country’s total food is produced. Visit a grain farm focusing on oilseed production, namely rapeseed. Continue to visit Ale’s Stones (Ale Stenar), a megalithic monument thought to be 1,400-5,500 years old. The stones created the form of a ship. Lunch on own in nearby village. Continue to visit an apple farm to learn about fruit production in this area. Continue along the picturesque coastline carved out in past millenia by glaciers and past beech tree forests. Breakfast at the hotel. Depart northwards leaving the open landscape in the forest and lake district of Småland with its typical Swedish red cottages. Visit a large scale organic dairy farm that also included arable land and forestry. Lunch at the farm restaurant. Continue to Växjö, the town where 1,000s of Swedes left for America. Visit the institute for emigrant research. Dinner on own. Hotel: 4* Hotel Växjö Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart and visit a glass blowing factory, famous for this area. Continue to visit the Moose Park and learn about the Swedish King of the Forest. The farm is owned by a family with their 4 children. The moose population is estimated at 350,000 and Sweden has the densest population of moose in the world. Their lifespan is 12-25 years and they eat land and sea vegetation. Lunch on a farm. Continue to visit a potato and strawberry farm. Visit to the famous children’s book author Astrid Lindgren’s home. Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will explore the agricultural region of Östergötland. Sweden is a net exporter of cereals that is a main commodity in this area as well as poultry, pigs, beef and vegetables. August is wheat harvesttime, so hopefully the group will experience an up close view of the harvest. Continue to Göta Canal, built in 1832, it is the largest civil engineering projects ever undertaken in Sweden. The Canal stretches from Sjötorp on Lake Vänern to Men on the east coast. It has a length of 118 miles and a total of 58 locks. Lunch included. This afternoon visit Vadstena and its abbey. founded in 1346. Enjoy the medieval buildings and manicured grounds. Breakfast at the hotel. Stockholm is generally referred to as Venice of the North, which is understandable, as the city is built on 14 islands. It is surrounded by Lake Mälaren, and by the Baltic Sea. The mixture of old and new, green spaces and water, picturesque narrow cobblestoned streets and engaging modern broad ones provides an attractiveness rarely seen elsewhere. Visit the Vasa ship museum with lunch included. Explore the museum centered around the Vasa warship built in the 17th Century. On her maiden voyage in 1628, the ship sunk in the harbor. In 1961, the ship was brought up out of the mud and carefully restored. Continue on a tour of the Old Town. Check into city centre hotel for two nights. Dinner on own Hotel: 4* Hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. Today enjoy a 3 hour cruise through the fascinating archipelago of Stockholm. This is a perfect way to see the various historical, cultural and natural sites while relaxing aboard the ship and listening to the commentary.
