Depart Chicago on flight to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The flight will have one connection. Upon arrival, clear customs and meet the local driver and guide who will be with the group the entire stay. Transfer to hotel for checkin and a bit of rest. This morning you will be joined by a local guide for a full-day tour of Prince Edward Island’s North Shore. This area is renowned for its stunning red sandstone cliffs, expansive sandy beaches, and picturesque fishing villages. The area boasts a dramatic coastal and offers scenic vistas and a quintessentially maritime atmosphere. Your first stop of the day will be to learn the process of oyster farming - from growth, to harvesting, to shucking. Next, visit a dairy farm. Prince Edward Island dairy products are known for their variety and high quality. Once in Cavendish, visit to Green Gables Heritage Place The centerpiece of the site is the charming farmhouse that served as the inspiration for the home of Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables). Though the house is not the actual one from the book, it is a representation of what Anne’s home might have looked like, and it is furnished in 19th C. style to give visitors a sense of life during the time the novel is set. Next, travel to North Rustico to discover PEI’s lobster fishing industry. After breakfast, travel to West Covehead to visit Allan Equipment Manufacturing, Canada’s largest designer and manufacturer of potato harvesting equipment as well as manufacturing of blueberry harvesters and mowers. Next, head to a potato farm to learn about one of Prince Edward Island’s biggest exports. Return to Charlottetown and stop at COWS Creamery for a self- guided tour of their facility that produces ice cream, butter, and cheese products. After breakfast, continue exploration of Prince Edward Island visiting a poultry farm, an organic produce farm, and a collection of antique farming equipment. Breakfast and checkout. Depart to New Brunswick crossing the Confederation Bridge and travel to the Bay of Fundy to take some time to explore Hopewell Rocks before an included lunch at High Tides Café. Hopewell Rocks is famous for its dramatic tidal formations where towering rock pillars are sculpted by the Bay of Fundy's extreme tides. These natural wonders, often referred to as the "Flowerpot Rocks," are best viewed during low tide when you can walk among them and become even more breathtaking at high tide when they are partially submerged. Please Note: ocean floor access time varies and will be at the discretion of park staff. Arrive in Halifax later today for check in for the next four nights. After breakfast, discover Halifax on a guided tour. Nova Scotia’s vibrant capital city is the business, educational and cultural center of the Canadian Maritimes. A significant port city since its founding in 1749, Halifax is unique for its architecture - historic buildings are interposed with ultra-modern glass towers, all framed by the backdrop of the Halifax Harbour. During the tour a stop will be made at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, the final resting place for over one hundred victims of the Titanic. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, a strategic hilltop fort where you can immerse yourself in the social and military history of Halifax, and Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to discover Nova Scotia’s rich maritime heritage. Breakfast at hotel. Depart on a drive along Nova Scotia’s famous lighthouse route, a beautiful coastal drive that passes picturesque coastal villages and inlets to the rugged fishing community of Peggy’s Cove. Also visit Lunenburg with its striking setting on the waterfront. Lunch included. Visit a local seaweed farming operation. After breakfast, the adventure through Nova Scotia continues with a drive to the Annapolis Valley, a picturesque region renowned for its lush landscapes, fertile soil, and vibrant agricultural heritage. Stretching between the Bay of Fundy and the North Mountain, this area offers stunning views, historic towns, and a thriving wine and apple industry.
