There is also extensive root vegetable production. Dairy and cattle remain important commodities that are exported throughout Europe. Discover modern countries that have emerged from the dark days of USSR rule. Due to its geographical position, all three countries have always been vital ports between Eastern and Western countries. Arrival early afternoon. Pass through immigration and customs and you will be met by your Trump Tours escort and local tour escort who will remain with you during the entire tour. Breakfast at the hotel. Depart through rural Estonia and visit an apple farm. The farm will be in fall harvest. The farmer produces apple wines and ciders for direct sales and also for export. Lunch included. Continue to Riga, Latvia. City tour of Riga. Riga is one of the oldest cities in the region and has been an important center of trade, finance and culture for centuries. Riga was also a Hanseatic League city. Enjoy its medieval, wooden and Art Noveau architecture. Riga’s city centre is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Breakfast at the hotel. Depart westwards into rural Latvia. Visit a large scale family farm with very productive soils using precision technology. Their main crops are cereals and rapeseeds. The group will most likely see the harvest. Lunch included. Continue to visit the Hill of Crosses. The Hill of Crosses is believed to have started in 1831 after an uprising. Over the generations, crosses, crucifixes and statues have been placed here and it has come to symbolize the peaceful endurance of the Lithuanian people. Lithuanians have a long tradition of crafting crosses out of oak and iron elements. It is a major Catholic pilgrimage site. Continue to hotel for check-in. Dinner included. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit a company involved in logistics. Klaipeda’s geographic location on the Baltic Sea has always been an important point between Eastern and Western countries. Board a ferry and enjoy the excursion to Curonian Spit. Visit the National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that is cherished for its prehistoric sand dunes sculpted over 5,000 years ago by winds and sea currents. Visit the Great Cormorant and heron colony with over 6,500 birds, fishermen’s village and amber museum where one can learn about Baltic amber. Lunch on own. Return to Klaipeda for overnight. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit a dairy farm with 400 cows in the Samogitia region (land with small hills and pastures). Lunch included. This afternoon visit a beef cattle farm with 500 Limousin cattle and 2,500 acres of very productive land. Continue to Kaunas to check in for two nights. Dinner included. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to one of Lithuania’s major root vegetable growers. The family grows cabbage and carrots and produces juice sold directly to market. Lunch included. Continue to visit a grain farm that produces wheat, rapeseed and green peas. Tour a bakery and learn about Lithuania’s famous black bread that is a culinary tradition. The family bakery sells direct to market and also via a cooperative to supermarkets. Dinner at the bakery with folk dancing. Return to Kaunas. Hotel: 4* Hotel Kaunas. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart direction Vilnius. En route, visit a state laboratory in charge of testing milk for Lithuania dairies and neighboring countries. Continue to visit a mixed farm with dairy cows, pigs, grains and other products. Lunch included. Visit the old town of Trakai, situated between hills, forests and lakes and once the capital of Lithuania. Cross the wooden bridge to an island to tour Trakai Castle, famous for its Gothic architecture. Continue to Vilnius for check-in for two nights. Dinner included. Hotel: 4* Hotel Vilnius. Breakfast at the hotel. City tour of Vilnius, a small town with a big heart. Enjoy its Gothic and Baroque architecture with ethereal cathedrals and stunning plazas. Visit to the Museum of Genocide and victims in former KGB prisons. Independence from the USSR was restored in 1990. Lithuania has 2.8 million residents. Free time. Farewell dinner with entertainment.
